World Veterinary Day 2019

World Veterinary Day was celebrated at Nandankanan Zoological Park on 27th April 2019, in the presence of Sri Shashi Paul, IFS, Director Nandankanan Biological Park, Sri Jayant Kumar Das, OFS-A (STS), Deputy Director, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Dr Alok Kumar Das, (SVO), Nandankanan Zoological Park and Sri Anjan Kumar Mohanty, OFS, (JB), ACF-(SM) . The celebration was observed with discussion on role of vaccination with a message for protect the health of animals. ACFs, Range Officers, Zoo Vets, Biologist, Education Officer, Forester, Forest Guard, Animal Keepers and other Group D staff attended this programme. Zoo vets highlights their speech in significant manner.

Dr S.K.Sahu , VAS will describe about their experience of vaccination in Nandankanan zoo , where as our second speaker Dr D. Mohapatra, Specialist, tells about “Immunization of Livestock” and finally Dr Alok Kumar Das, SVO focused on preparation of vaccine and its proper storage. Today’s Chief Guest Sri Shashi Paul, IFS, Director Nandankanan Biological Park telsl the importance of vaccine and appreciated the zoo vets for their hardworking. Finally the vote of thanks was given by Sri Anjan Kumar Mohanty.

In morning an open quiz was organized amongst visitors with today’s theme by Sri Amulya Kumar Parida, Dr Rajesh Mohapatra and Sri Milan kumar Panda. 20 nos of prizes were awarded to winners and finally a signature campaign was conducted in front of Interpretation centre to raise awareness among the people.
