Vernacular Name: Akasi, Akasia (O)
Small or moderate-sised tree; bark white; branchlets glabrous and glaucous, slightly angular. Leaves transformed into falcate-oblong phyllodes. Flowers small, yellow, in slender axillary spikes. Pods hard, almost woody, much coiled in an irregular spiral, with the outer edge often sinuate.
Introduced, but wild through out the area with adequate regeneration.
Flowering : Most part of the year.
