On 29th July, 2025, Nandankanan Zoological Park celebrated International Tiger Day in presence officials of Nandankanan, college and school students, zoo volunteers, and staff of Nandankanan. On-the-spot quiz on "Tiger Conservation" was conducted where twenty participants received prizes, which they greatly valued. The visitors and students posted their messages on the "Tiger conservation" signature campaign board. At the event, 22 Tiger keepers received recognition for their arduous and committed efforts. A program called "Keepers Talk" was also held to educate visitors and students about how keepers look after tigers on a daily basis. Zoo volunteers performed an act (Nukkad Natak) while delivering a conservation message about tigers. Fifty people took part in an expert talk program that was organized in the afternoon that covered basics of tiger, tigers of Nandankanan and tiger biological characteristics. 'Talk along the walk' program and a story-telling session at the Zoo Digital Library was organized for school students, during which the Education Wing and Zoo Volunteers explained to them every facet of tiger care and made them aware about tiger conservation. The tiger awareness messages, photos, videos were shared to print, electronic media for wider circulation. There are currently 29 tigers at Nandankanan, including 4 Melanistic Tigers, 6 White Tigers, and 19 Normal Colored Tigers.
