Terms of Reference for engagement Veterinary Officer

- Duty Station: Nandankanan Zoological Park
- Remuneration: Gross remuneration of Rs.65,000/- per month, including all allowances.
- Duration of engagement: 1 year and renewable subject to satisfactory performance and duration of project period, which is likely to be 2 years.
- Essential Educational Qualifications: B.V.Sc & A.H , Fresher / Retired person
Retired Veterinary officers below 65 years of age with experience in MVU.
- Submission of Documents: The candidates should bring duly filled-in application with self attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualification, field experience and No objection certificate from present employer (if employed).
- Roles & Responsibilities of Veterinary Officer engaged in Mobile Veterinary Unit::
- The Veterinary Officer shall be in charge of the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU).
- As a team manager, he/she shall bear overall responsibility for the effective functioning of the MVU.
- The other support staff of the MVU will work under his/her guidance and supervision.
- He/she shall be collectively responsible for the healthcare management and disease control of wild animals in the concerned forest division.
- He/she shall refer cases to the Local Block Veterinary Dispensary/Sub-Divisional Veterinary Dispensary/District Veterinary Dispensary for further treatment.
- He/she shall take immediate and appropriate action during outbreaks / epidemic and inform the local Veterinarian.

- He/she shall work in coordination with the local staff of the Animal Husbandry Department and local PRI authorities for control of disease outbreaks and management during natural calamities.
- He/she shall conduct regular health check-ups and maintain health records of the wildlife in the park.
- He/she shall participate in training programs and workshops to stay updated with the latest veterinary practices.
- Date-wise performance details shall be maintained in a register under the given heads:
Name of the livestock owner contacted.
Particulars of examination conducted/observation made.
Cross-checking of vaccination status of domestic animals in forest areas.
Awareness programs conducted.
Samples collected and dispatched to any referral laboratory.
Logbook of the vehicle.
- Any other work assigned as per the requirement from time to time.
